Now I live in Seattle, married, kid, and it's beautiful. If you don't have a job though, it's going to be rough. Predictably warm weather, amazing restaurants, a different scene in every one of LA's "real" towns - Hollywood, Westwood, Santa Monica, Silverlake, etc.

Then I moved in with aa more serious GF to an apartment on Wilshire near the LaBrea tarpits. I was single, I had a job, dating was incredibly easy, since I had a full head of hair, a job and a light Scottish accent. It was ten minutes from the Sunset Strip but it felt like a desert mountain town. I lived for a bout a year with four other dudes in a luxurious house in the Hollywood Hills. I moved to the US from the UK in my mid twenties.
